Yayasan Gunung Madu (YGM) provided eyeglass aid to fifteen students in Gunung Madu this year. The recipients include students from Kindergarten (TK), Elementary School (SD), Junior High School (SMP), and Senior High School (SMA). The activity took place on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the Public Center of PT Gunung Madu Plantations (GMP).
The target beneficiaries of this aid are students whose parents work as daily laborers. YGM hopes that this support will help alleviate the burden on parents and assist students with vision difficulties in their learning process at school and at home.
The distribution of the aid began with an eye examination for the students conducted at the Primary Clinic of the Gunung Madu Health Center. This ensured that the provided eyeglasses met the specific needs of the students and were based on the doctor’s recommendations.
Hermawan Yujiono, a member of the YGM management, expressed in his speech, “We hope this activity can be carried out every year, providing benefits to students in need and supporting their learning activities. This will motivate the students, as the next generation, to strive for their aspirations.” YGM has been organizing this activity since 2022, with the intention of making it a regular event each year as a demonstration of their concern for the children of daily laborers residing within the GMP site.
