PT Gunung Madu Plantations (GMP) participated in the Cheap Market event in Lampung Province organized by the Lampung Provincial Department of Industry and Trade in collaboration with companies in Lampung Province. The Cheap Market agenda was held throughout December 2023 to fulfill the needs of the Lampung community ahead of Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024. This activity took place in several regions of Lampung Province, such as: Krui – West Pesisir, Gading Rejo – Pringsewu, South Lampung, Jabung – East Lampung, Metro City, and Bandar Lampung City
The communities in the six regencies and cities welcomed this cheap market activity open arms. The Head of the Department of Industry and Trade, Mrs. Elvira Ummihani S.P, M.T., stated that the cheap market activity held to meet the communities’ needs at affordable prices through government subsidy schemes. During the event, various basic necessities such as rice, sugar, cooking oil, and red chili were available, all sold below market prices. Mrs. Elvira Ummihani hoped that this activity and the efforts of the Lampung Provincial Government could alleviate and assist the community in meeting their daily needs.
