PT Gunung Madu Plantations (GMP) conducted a humanitarian program called “Gunung Madu Cares” by holding a blood donation event in collaboration with the Health Center of Gunung Madu and the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Central Lampung branch on Saturday, 18 March, 2023. The blood donation activities were divided into two regions, the Western region held at GSG Housing 2 and the Eastern region held at GSG Housing 6.
The event was enthusiastically welcomed by the surrounding community of GMP, including employees and residents who participated in this blood donation activity. There were 236 participants registered for this event and 211 bags of blood were collected from donors, which were then handed over to the blood bank of the PMI Central Lampung branch.
Dwiyant Muhammad S.E, the coordinator of the blood donation activity, stated that this event was conducted as a form of GMP’s concern for the Lampung community, so that the donated blood could be useful for people who needed it, such as those supporting operations and others. “When you donate money, you provide food, but when you donate blood, you give life,” he said.
The PMI Central Lampung branch also welcomed this blood donation activity. The chairman of PMI Central Lampung, Ivang Dimas Wibowo S.Kep expressed his deepest gratitude to the donors and hoped that the donated blood could give a glimmer of hope for the beneficiaries.
