PT Gunung Madu Plantations (GMP) participated in the Ramadan Bazaar event held by the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) in the courtyard of the Kementan office complex from March 20 to April 13, 2023. This year’s Ramadan bazaar was held in collaboration with various parties, including multinational companies and Kementan agricultural partners.

The bazaar was opened by the Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, Kasdi Subagyono, who stated that the Ramadan bazaar sold various staple goods below the Highest Retail Price (HET) with the aim of facilitating the fulfillment of basic needs for the community during Ramadan in 2023.

The bazaar was well-received by the community. One member of the community who preferred not to be named expressed his satisfaction with the event and hoped that it could continue to be held because the prices of staple goods, including sugar, were sold below market prices.

Iwan Kurniawan ST, Head of the GMP Services Department, said that the company’s participation in the bazaar was a form of commitment to assist the government in fulfilling the staple foods of the community, especially sugar, during Ramadan. PT GMP sent 1,000 kg of white crystal sugar to be sold at a price of Rp.12,500/kg. “We hope that this can facilitate the community in obtaining staple foods at an affordable price,” he concluded.
