PT Gunung Madu Plantations (GMP) assisted in the form of four units of fish enclosures measuring 6×7 meters to two surrounding villages. The company directly handed over the assistance to the village heads of Gunung Batin Baru Village and Bandar Agung Village in the Terusan Nunyai District on May 27, 2023. In addition to the enclosures, GMP also donated 10,000 catfish and tilapia fingerlings. These fish fingerlings will be the initial capital for fish farming.

General Affairs of PT GMP, Egi Wira Gala, stated that the fish enclosure program was initiated in 2020 and provided to Tanjung Anom Village in the Terusan Nunyai District and Bumi Nabung Ilir Village in the Bumi Nabung District, Lampung Tengah. To this day, the program has been ongoing and become an additional source of income for fish farming groups in both villages. He also said that the company wished this program would serve as the foundation for microeconomic growth in the communities surrounding PT GMP.

In his speech, Mr. Sodikin, the Village Head of Gunung Batin Baru and Chairman of Karang Taruna, expressed high appreciation for GMP’s CSR fish enclosure program. He also mentioned that the Karang Taruna of Gunung Batin Udik Village would participate in monitoring the progress of the fish enclosure program to ensure it brought economic benefits to the village community.
