41 partner farmers had the opportunity to visit the PT Gunung Madu Plantations (GMP) factory during the 48th Milling Season in 2024. This visit was part of the Partnership Division program which aims to introduce the sugar production process, starting from weighing the sugar cane and checking the quality, to making it into refined sugar. ready to be marketed. This activity received a positive response from the farmers as seen from the high enthusiasm during the visit. The farmers also had the opportunity to meet the Head of the Factory Department, Mr. Bernard Lee, and were accompanied by factory staff, Mrs. Purwanti, Mr. Riyanto, and Mrs. Winny. According to Mr. Ngadiman, his party implements a partnership system that prioritizes trust between both parties, one of which is by inviting partners to see first hand the entire production process, from weighing the sugar cane to storing the sugar in the warehouse. “With this event, we hope that GMP partner farmers can understand the production process, starting from queuing to get e-tickets, weighing, taking quality samples at the core sampler, to the process of unloading sugar cane and processing it into sugar ready for sale,” said Ngadiman.
The farmers hope that this visit can become a regular agenda, because apart from increasing knowledge and experience, it also strengthens their sense of trust in the GMP partnership program.
