PT Gunung Madu Plantations (PT GMP) continues to play an active role in sustainability, one of which is carrying out a Life Cycle Assessment. This assessment was carried out by the PT GMP Internal team and the Indonesian Life Cycle Team. This is project was launched by the Director of PT GMP in the Ragnar Room on July 17 2024 and is targeted for completion in January 2025
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a standardized method that contains a way to assess potential environmental impacts related to production processes or services by calculating and evaluating the consumption of natural resources and the impact on the environment in all stages of the product/life cycle. services, from raw material extraction to waste disposal.
This LCA approach can help PT GMP determine the priority direction of its sustainability program in producing a product. Apart from that, LCA can determine a baseline as a guide for product emissions in the sugar industry. This LCA assessment involves various departments and divisions, namely the Plantations, Factory, Services department, QHSE Division and Legal Division.
