In order to enhance preparedness and vigilance against fire hazards in the workplace, PT GMP conducted a fire drill at the Central Workshop area on Friday, July 17, 2025. This activity is part of the company’s ongoing program to strengthen the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) within its operations. The simulation began at 9:00 AM local time with a fire scenario caused by an electrical short circuit in one of the workshop areas. The fire alarm was activated as an evacuation signal, and all employees and technicians were immediately directed to the assembly point in accordance with the designated evacuation routes.
The Emergency Response Team (ERT) of PT GMP demonstrated a quick response by carrying out initial handling using fire extinguishers and securing the affected area. The evacuation process was recorded to have run in an orderly manner and was completed in less than three minutes after the alarm was triggered. In his statement, the Head of QSHE Division of PT GMP, Mr. Wisnu Eko Nugroho, emphasized the importance of this activity as a preventive measure to foster a safe work culture and readiness in emergency situations. “This simulation is the company’s concrete effort to ensure that all workers understand evacuation procedures and know what to do in the event of a fire. More than just a drill, it reflects the company’s concern for the safety of all PT GMP personnel,” he said.
The fire drill was also attended by security personnel, the medical team, and the T&FE Division. After the activity, a technical evaluation was conducted to review the effectiveness of communication, evacuation routes, and the readiness of firefighting equipment. PT GMP is committed to continuously conducting OSH training on a regular basis to prevent potential workplace accidents and to foster a safe, healthy, and productive work environment.
