As part of its commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—specifically Goal 1 (No Poverty), Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)—PT Gunung Madu Plantations (GMP) inaugurated its Home Renovation CSR Program for underprivileged communities surrounding its operational area.
The program includes the construction of 24 livable housing units across eight villages: Gunung Batin Baru, Gunung Batin Udik, Gunung Batin Ilir, Gunung Agung, Bandar Agung, Bandar Sakti, Tanjung Anom, and Gunung Menanti. Each village received three housing units built to meet basic family comfort standards, consisting of two bedrooms, one living room, and one bathroom.
Before construction began, PT GMP’s CSR team conducted a feasibility survey to ensure that the selected beneficiaries were truly those in need. The three-month program also engaged local residents in the construction process to foster a sense of ownership and community spirit (gotong royong). The inauguration ceremony was symbolically led by PT Gunung Madu Plantations Director, Mr. Chong Seng Wai, accompanied by Head of Services Department, Mr. Iwan Kurniawan, and attended by village heads from the recipient areas as well as Terusan Nunyai Subdistrict Head, Mr. Andry Yulizar, S.E., M.M. During the event, symbolic house key handovers and a plaque signing ceremony took place on October 14–15, 2025, in each of the beneficiary villages.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Endah, was overwhelmed with emotion upon receiving her new home. “Thank you, PT Gunung Madu Plantations, for giving my family and me this house. We can now live more comfortably,” she said, wiping away tears of joy.
Meanwhile, the Head of Tanjung Anom Village, Mr. Wasis Trisno Hadi, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the company. “This program means a lot to our community. The dream of having a decent home has finally come true thanks to PT GMP’s care and commitment to the welfare of local residents,” he stated.
Through this Home Renovation Program, PT Gunung Madu Plantations continues to strengthen its contribution toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in eradicating poverty, improving community living standards, and creating safe and decent housing environments.
The program also serves as a tangible example of collaboration between the company, local government, and the community in building shared prosperity in a sustainable and inclusive manner.
