PT Gunung Madu Plantations (PT GMP) successfully organized the GMP Cup U-11 youth football tournament as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, with participation from 24 teams representing elementary schools in Central Lampung and surrounding areas. The event took place at the Terusan Nunyai District Field, Gunung Batin Udik Village, on September 13–14, 2025.
The tournament was officially opened with the attendance of PT GMP Director Chong Seng Wai, PT GMP Head of Services Department Iwan Kurniawan, Terusan Nunyai Subdistrict Head Andri Yulizar, SE., MM., Terusan Nunyai Police Chief and staff, as well as the Heads of Gunung Batin Udik and Gunung Batin Ilir villages.
In his remarks, PT GMP management, represented by Head of Services Department Iwan Kurniawan, stated that the GMP Cup reflects the company’s commitment to nurturing the younger generation. “This tournament aims to encourage our children to achieve, create positive activities, and at the same time, be part of the 50th anniversary celebration of PT Gunung Madu Plantations,” he said. Terusan Nunyai Subdistrict Head, Andri Yulizar, SE., MM., expressed appreciation and gratitude for PT GMP’s concern in supporting positive activities for children in the region. The opening ceremony was further enlivened by the release of doves as a symbol of prayers and good wishes for the prosperity of both the company and the community.
The tournament was lively, filled with great enthusiasm from both participants and supporters. The final results were as follows:
- 1st Place: MI Ma’arif Purbolinggo, East Lampung
- 2nd Place: SDN 2 Banjar Kertahayu
- 3rd Place: SDN Bangun Rejo
- Top Scorer: Albi Abrisam Fachri from MI Ma’arif Purbolinggo, East Lampung, with 6 goals.
At the closing ceremony, prizes were awarded directly in the presence of PT GMP Director Teh Choo Pong, adding to the joy and pride of the participants and community. The winners received trophies, medals, development funds, and certificates of recognition.
Through this event, PT GMP hopes to continue contributing positively to the local community, particularly in the fields of sports and youth development.
