PT Gunung Madu Plantations (GMP) provided food aid in the form of rice, canned sardines, and instant noodles to communities affected by the floods in the Terusan Nunyai and Bandar Mataram districts on Friday, March 24, 2023.
The Head of Services Department, Iwan Kurniawan S.T, said that the food aid was given to ease the burden of the communities around the company that were affected by the floods. A total of 229 packages of food aid were distributed to five villages, namely Gunung Batin Udik, Gunung Batin Baru, Bandar Agung, Tanjung Anom, and Terbanggi Ilir. In addition, GMP also distributed 205 packages of food aid to residents of worker barracks in Putak and Sangaji areas who were also affected by the floods.
The Head of Gunung Batin Udik Village, Istiyahadi, expressed his gratitude for the concern and care shown by PT GMP towards the needs of the surrounding community when contacted by journalists via WhatsApp on March 25, 2023. He hoped that GMP would continue to be present among the community through CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programs, whether in the form of food aid packages or other assistance that has been ongoing. He also wished for the continued success of GMP.
