Bandar Lampung, May 18, 2025 — Thousands of runners from various regions gathered at the Boemi Kedaton Mall Courtyard in Bandar Lampung to participate in the TKG X Gunung Madu 50th Anniversary Half Marathon, held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of PT Gunung Madu Plantations (GMP). This highly anticipated annual event attracted a record-breaking 2,300 participants from diverse backgrounds, competing in three race categories: 5K, 10K, and 21K (Half Marathon).

The event was officially opened by the Board of Directors of PT GMP alongside Committee Chairman Nico Ardian from the Run Away Bandar Lampung Community, marking the start of an event that not only focused on sports but also carried a spirit of social responsibility. In his remarks, Nico Ardian stated that the event was made possible through sponsorship from PT Gunung Madu Plantations in celebration of its 50th anniversary. “We also express our gratitude to all participants from across Indonesia, including runners from Jakarta, Palembang, and many other cities, who took part in this half marathon event,” he said. “Additionally, 50% of the registration fees will be donated to social foundations and communities in need across Lampung Province. This is more than just a running event—it’s a meaningful act of compassion and real contribution from runners to Lampung,” Nico added.

The excitement of the event was further elevated by the presence of public figures and sports inspirators such as rapper Saykoji, Puteri Indonesia 2002 Meilanie Putri, and Akhrie Koto, a 150KM ultra-marathon finisher. Their presence brought a unique boost of motivation and enthusiasm to both participants and spectators.

With the high enthusiasm of the runners and strong support from various parties, the TKG X Gunung Madu 50th Anniversary Half Marathon 2025 stood as a testament that the golden anniversary celebration of PT GMP could be embraced with a spirit of sportsmanship, unity, and social responsibility.
